Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system, to the maintenance of normal bones and to the maintenance of normal muscle function. It also contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus.

4,000 IU equals 100 micrograms of vitamin D3 per softgel. The French food safety agency ANSES sets the adult safety upper limit at 100 µg per day, not to be exceeded without medical supervision.

Follow the recommended serving shown on the label and in the product description. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. If you are unsure, or already take other supplements containing vitamin D, ask a healthcare professional.

Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so it is usually taken with a meal containing some fat, which supports absorption.

The skin produces vitamin D from sunlight. At European latitudes winter sun is weak and indoor work limits exposure, which is why intake is often insufficient between October and March.
